R.D. – Just a Gigolo

Question: Whose birthday is it?

Answer: Mine. HA! Happy 30th to me. I am officially old. Comic-loving, street-fighter mashing,  ferret-on-crack but now “old.”

Oh! Did you know that Warren Ellis wrote the formative comics of my young life? I just picked up Excalibur Visionaries: Warren Ellis and I am chuffed as Sin at a two for one street corner. I can’t believe I have his comics, read them front to back until the corners wore off, and now only made the connection. I love his depiction of Nightcrawler. He wrote SoulSword and fricking Dream Nails Trilogies. Sweet baby Jesus! Not mention, Kristen bought my #700 of Amazing Spider-Man. Thank you to my Olympia-based mother Gabi at Olympic Comics and Cards for holding onto it for me. What a birthday!

And thank you to everyone for wishing me a happy 30th on Facebook and Twitter, people I know in the Real and people I have grown through the Internet. It’s amazing the friends you can find.
